I'm 29 weeks pregnant and I can't smell a thing. What could this be?!

Lateral flow tests or PCR?

Lottiebugz22 · 06/07/2021 16:25

I had no taste nor smell bad hearing loss im one ear, sinus & ear infection a cough & sore throat.

Did 4! lft one a day and two of the proper ones. All negative.

There was so many bugs before covid and I think because of social distancing we may just be seeing a higher spike of illness where its all been a bit dormat for a while!

I was so convinced for 2 weeks I MUST have covid. Luckily covid or no covid when your feeling wank no one wants to go out & about.

Your loss of taste will probably follow on or towards a typical cold maybe ?

Feel better soon

I went for a Covid test on the basis of a sudden loss of taste and smell - turns out I was suffering from both oral thrush and acid reflux which my GP and I both concluded were likely the cause of the impairment of senses. I also found out about a week after the loss of taste began that I was pregnant, so have unfortunately not been able to receive treatment for the thrush, and so my taste isn’t back to normal yet Sad

I had loss of smell for about 6 months a few years ago. The Dr tried a few different nasal sprays and it was a steroid spray combined with cetirizine anti histamine that brought it back. No idea what happened except there was probably some inflamation at the back of my nose?
Hope you get it sorted. I was worried that it was 'forever' but it did come back.
