Had an infected tooth extracted 12 days ago (tooth was filled six months earlier) , was very swollen beneath gums, so much so that part of my face was numb. Two lots of antibiotics later and the swelling was more localised to the problem tooth.
Had it extracted and it was painless procedure but an arse to get out.
Swelling was quite bad after but the wound has healed nicely now.
However, I still have a painless hard swelling along the gum under where the tooth was and the along the next couple of teeth. It's quite pronounced, makes my cheek look a bit different.
Has anyone else had this? Not sure if it's infection or traumatic swelling /tissues still need to heal, and whether I need to just give it time or need yet more antibiotics. There's a little lump on the side nearest my tongue too, just where the problem tooth was.
I will call dentist in the morning but just wondered if anyone else has had this or if any dentists can advise?
