Taking Naproxen with Lanzoprazole?

GP said Naproxen a bit after a meal, which makes sense; I’ve now been prescribed Lanzoprazole for the next course in case of side effects and on the box it says 30 mins before food but on the script it says take with the Naproxen

Does it matter? I can’t work out what is the best way (please don’t tell me to ask the GP as it’s impossible to actually speak to anyone!) as I’m tired and grumpy with pain…

Take the lansoprazole once a day 30 mins before food then take your naproxen once or twice a day with food.

Hi. Advice says:

How and when to take naproxen. Always take your naproxen tablets with or just after a meal so you do not get an upset stomach.

But the Lanzoprazole is prescribed to counter that so it should be fine to take that first, eat, then take naproxen.

I found lansoprazole a right pain to take because of the timing. Omeprazole is much more flexible (and doesn't disagree with me, like lansoprazole did)

Can you not get Vimovo in the U.K.? It’s naproxen and esomeprazole in the same tablet.

Thank you! That does make sense. I missed the Lanzoprazole this morning because I’d already eaten my breakfast ready for the Naproxen.

@PickAChew I was assuming I’d get omeprazole so haven’t looked into the relative merits; been ok with naproxen so far but starting to get a bit queasy with it. Will have to see how it goes as I may be in it for the long haul
