B12 deficiency

Is there a way to tell why a person is b12 deficient?
I eat foods that are rich in b12 (tuna, chicken etc) not everyday but at least a few times a week.
Had a blood test and my levels are low and I’ve been put on loading injections

You should ask if they'll check your IgA (I think it is) it's an antibody that's produced by the body which attacked pariental cells in your stomach. This prevents your body absorbing b12...

If its present then it won't matter how much b12 you consume, your body won't absorb it so you'll need injections for life

That’s great thank you, I will ask at my next appointment Smile
