Hi mums,

My 7 month old daughter was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection/bronchiolitis last week and seemed to pick up last Thursday, when she ate well. She’s been off her food/bottles since Friday and I took her to the GP that day and he said she was fine and her chest sounded raspy but clearing. Had a rubbish weekend, she wouldn’t eat and her temperature was up and down. Back to the doctors on Monday and he said one of her ears was scarlet and bulging so prescribed antibiotics.
She seems much happier but still will not take a bottle or water. She’s up at the hospital now for observation regarding dehydration but she’s full of beans otherwise and smiling and laughing at the doctors. She’s a massive foodie but only had 12oz of formula today, which is a massive fight but is picking at crisps and fruit.

When will she get better? I’ve cried all day, I feel so alone as we’ve had about 6 trips to the doctors and out of hours over the last two weeks and they say she’s fine. She clearly isn’t if she won’t eat.

I’d appreciate any words of wisdom to keep me going ❤️

Oh @JEmama2020 how awful for you !
You will probably find that your beautiful baby will suddenly perk up and go back completely to normal !
It's not time predictable but all children suffer illness and virus now and then .. they then come back to normal when you are pulling your hair out with worry
She is fine ... look after you ! Make sure you are eating and drinking, getting some rest and sleep when you can and don't show stress or she'll pick that up
Hopefully you'll see a big difference very soon 💐

Oh thank you! I really hope so. I just want my big happy chubby baby back, I really miss her although I’ve never left her side. Hubby is with her at hospital, said she’s happy but they are taking it serious even though everything seems normal. Possibly earache making teething worse, and antibiotics upsetting her tummy they say.

Hopefully answers soon x
