Can't find a NHS dentist

I missed my last appointment at my nhs dentist and then covid hit. Since it's been two years, they've taken me off their register.

I've been phoning around but can't find another nhs dentist.

Does any one have experience or advice about using something like Den-plan or similar? I feel a bit clueless!

Thank you.

I'm thinking about Denplan for the same reason. I tried to complain by email about being struck off and they still ignored me. I was planning to just call the dentist I wanted to use and ask the receptionist to go through the prices with me and discuss what I need. There seem to be 2 levels.

Where do you live OP? Is there a dental school near you? I work at one in my area, we take on patients twice a year and it’s free. You just need time (students are slow), but the work is usually done by fourth or fifth years about to qualify and closely supervised.
It’s also worth looking at Bupa dental if you’re shopping around for private plans.
