I think its disgusting he felt he had no choice but to quit.

Why?

Hmm

He should have quit as soon as he was exposed. Twat.

PurpleSunrise · 26/06/2021 19:51

Why is this in general health? Grin

Hawkins001 · 26/06/2021 19:52

Id say, the Machiavelli perspectives, in me, are there is a lot more to this than is being let on.

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 26/06/2021 19:53

@SmokedLancashire why what? Why should he have resigned? For not following guidance?
I know plenty of nurses, paramedics & police offers who don’t follow the guidance and advice they give to others for a living. Should they resign too?

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 26/06/2021 19:53

I agree @Hawkins001

Careful Gina, you’ve outed yourself

Er, yes!

Well no it’s because it is hugely hypocrical and embarrassing to have been so central in creating and enforcing the regulations, making speeches telling us all how important it is…and then breaking them himself, on camera. Plus lack of public scrutiny for her role.

LordOfTheOnionRings · 26/06/2021 20:05

The fact this is in general health is hilarious

Yes of course they should. There are certain roles where personal integrity needs to be aligned with the job description.

Absolutely. Astounded that anyone would question this. How bloody sad.

JoyOrbison · 26/06/2021 20:14

He should have left the job / post a long time ago. So, end result has been achieved, but not the right way.

His appalling handling over the last 18 months would ideally resulted in an inquiry and sacking.

Plus the footage is worse than watching a sixth former end of year party. It is clunkingly unsexy 🤢

Jowak1 · 26/06/2021 20:15

Of course he should have resigned!- he's the Health Secretary during a pandemic and he breaks the rules everyone else in the UK is expected to follow! He did the only thing he could it would have been hypocritical to stay.

Heelsofsteel · 26/06/2021 20:18

The whole thing is fascinating. Was she some sort of honey trap, knowing that they were being filmed?
I’m sorry I know they say this ‘friendship’ goes back years but I’m having such a hard time believing any woman could fancy Matt Hancock.
Who planted the camera?
He’s surely the most sexually undesirable man anywhere. How has this happened?

LadyPenelope68 · 26/06/2021 20:19

@Willwebebuyingnumber11

I think its disgusting he felt he had no choice but to quit.

Err, why? It’s more than the social distancing thing, it’s about integrity and being hypocritical by not resigning after the comments he made about the Covid Scientific Advisor chap who also had an affair, saying that it was correct he resigned.

Willwebebuyingnumber11 · 26/06/2021 20:25

So you’d refuse treatment from a nurse who smokes?

Skybubble · 26/06/2021 20:32

I think that he must of known that the cameras were there so maybe he wanted out of his position and marriage.
