Kidney Stent

I have been told that I will need a permanent stent put in between my kidney and bladder. I found this out from my GP and don’t have an appointment with urology until mid July.
Has anybody had this procedure and could give me a few detail such as length of stay in hospital and recovery time. Any details would be great

Hello there. I haven't had a permanent stent put in but I did have a temporary one last year. It was a fairly short op (20-30 minutes) under general anaesthetic. I was out of hospital within a few hours. Going to the loo was uncomfortable at first but there was an improvement within a few hours. By 24-48 hours, it didn't bother me much at all. I won't lie, the sensation took some getting used to but if I kept while hydrated, I usually didn't notice anything. Mine was in for 3 months and didn't cause me bother at all.

Mine was temporary so I appreciate not quite the same but thought it might reassure you a bit anyway.
