Oral thrush

I've been using Daktarin gel for oral thrush for nearly a week. It is definitely better than it was (more than 50%) but I feel that progress has plateaued as my tongue still has a coating which gets worse after eating.

I have a dentist appointment next week so I will persevere with the gel for another week. But if it's no better by then should I ask the dentist for flucanazole?

The thrush has also left me with redness and soreness on the inside of my lower gums particularly around the gumline. Do you think I will need a deep clean by the dentist to clear this?

Nystatin liquid might help

Thanks DogsSausages I'll ask my dentist about Nystatin when I see them next week.
