if you're concerned then give the nhs helpline a ring 0845 4647, has she got a temperature ???

Yellowbean - I have exactly the same prob with my ds (7months). It's really stinky, and we keep thinking he's pooed. I also think it's not dehydration as he has plenty of heavy wet nappies a day.

I asked the hv (who's crap) about it and she just said dehydration, or they can do tests. Not sure what the tests are for, but I'm going to push for them. He has a really sore nappy rash too, with weeping blisters the size of a 10p. We've got some anti-fungal cream which is helping a bit, but I'm wondering if there's something else wrong.

no temp. she does have a cold and chesty cough and is tething but generally wellish.
sandybeach... can recomend bepanthen cream for nappy rash. would be tmpted to see a doc with blisters like that though

sandybeach · 21/11/2007 20:27

thanks yb. I did get him to the docs and the antifungal is what she gave us. Poor thing was sobbing at every nappy change.

YB have noticed dds wee smells stronge r when she is cutting teeth, despite her guzzling gallons.Dunno why it just seems to happen, she always gets nappy rash when teething too.Strange but true!!!
