24hrs ago I suddenly awoke to pains in my stomach, cramps that moved around which then went across the top of my back, I just couldn't get comfortable and felt so ill. I was sick. Phoned 111 who sent an ambulance. Was taken to hospital and on route given something to stop the sickness, 2 lots of morphine and iv paracetamol. The pain reduced but the discomfort did not.The hospital tested my blood and wee and all was fine, was given codeine and oramorph and sent home with more codeine. The pain has reduced but there is still some discomfort. It is all unexplained and the confusing part is that when pressure is applied to my stomach there is no pain to be found. Any ideas what this could be?

Sounds like a scary experience @steinber did they tell you to follow up with your GP? How are you doing now?

steinber · 18/06/2021 07:52

Hopefully speaking with the gp today. I'm not in pain anymore thank god but there definitely feels something different on the right side of my stomach. It's a hard one to explain.

Could be all sorts of things, most obvious explanation being some sort of virus or stomach bug (you don’t always have to have an upset stomach etc to have a stomach bug).

Hope you're still on the mend and that you get something useful from your GP @steinber

Ah that makes sense, my sister had trouble with her gallbladder and she described the pain as being intense as what you describe. Hope you get your scan quickly.

IslandLulu · 19/06/2021 22:20

Could be shingles

Cahu58 · 19/06/2021 22:26

I had my gallbladder out as an emergency in March ~ the pain was worse then labour and I'd unknowingly had gallstones which was why my back had been agony on and off for a couple of years. Could be similar?
