Hi - has anyone had any experience of this, I'm sure I saw a topic ages ago about this but being cr*p on the computer I can't seem to find it.

My ds who is nearly 5 has been complaining at night the last 2 days of having sore legs, in his calves, knees and thighs. He doesn't have a fever, but has been quite tired in general the last 2 weeks (although he's had a cold). Is it just "growing pains" or should I be concerned? He seems generally quite happy once he gets going in the morning - has always been Mr cranky on waking!

thanks

My dds get aching joints at bedtimes now and again.I remember having this too as a child. I use a homeopathic remedy for aching feet and joints. Its made by New Era, I got mine from Holland and Barrett. Not sure if it works or not but once they've had 2 tiny tablets then the moaning stops!! HTH

Thanks Batey - I'll see if i can get some of that. DO they ever still have it in the morning?

I'm wondering if it's a dose of flu or something, he's refusing to go to school this morning which is most unlike him...however, he's not feverish as i say, but still complaining about his legs being sore.

DS got it a few times - he's now 6. I put it down to growing pains and gave him Nurofen.

Thanks Buda - I think the problem also is that I have a bit of a drama king! He's currently lying on the sofa under a blanket watching TV declaring to everyone that "I'm not going to school today because i'm sick and my legs are sore. I;m not hungry but later i might have some ice cream!"!!! ....seems ok otherwise, just a bit tired.

i guess everyone is entitled to a sickie now and again.....

He sounds sweet! Ice cream of course is known for making you better!

I had DS off too - yesterday and today as he has a cold.

TBH I think this is such a long term for them that they get tired so a day off (duvet day in our house) is good.

i totally agree with you and I think they also get a bit overwrought with halloween, bonfire night, christmas etc etc...too much excitement

chocolate biscuits are also known for making you better, especially a dairy milk finger now and again!
