Thrush

Long story short I had a uti which I've had 2 different antibiotics with which has now caused thrush.

I took precautions when taking the antibiotics as I know I usually get it so I've been applying cream to the area and I took an oral pill. It's stopped any itching but I can feel a sort of burning sensation inside still but just mild discomfort where I've been applying the canesten cream.

Could this just be residual inflammation from the uti? I'm peeing normally now. Or is this what internal thrush feels like?

It could be either to be honest. Is there any vaginal discharge and if so does it seem ‘off’ - like curds or watery?
Given you have taken an oral tablet, if you do have discharge,could you use a pessary?
Safest thing would be to call your Gp and get advice there.

No discharge whatsoever. If I remember rightly I had this trouble the last time I had a bad uti my gp said that it would be all inflamed inside which caused the residual pain. I think I'm probably just impatient to feel better

Call your GP.

If the UTI hasn’t gone away, you don’t want to leave it untreated, I know someone who did this and the result has had a very bad impact on her overall health. Don’t take the risk.

Thank you for the advice I've spoken to my gp and she thinks it is most likely to be after effects of uti as she says the pain can linger after antibiotics have finished even. Said to use a soothing cream for 48 hours and it should all clear up 😊
