Persistent bloating and wind after antibiotics

4 weeks ago I had a complicated surgery on my shoulder. I had IV antibiotics in hospital and then 10 days of co-amoxiclav when I was discharged. I was given antisickness medication for a week but still felt sick for 2 weeks. The surgeon said it was the antibiotics doing this. I also had a lot of bloating when I woke up from the surgery but they didn't go anywhere near my bowels or anything like that. Again the surgeon said it was the antibiotics and to take probiotics.

The bloating is slightly better but not much even after 4 weeks. I'm slim so look like I've swallowed a football. I think it is trapped wind as my stomach gurgles a lot and I can feel air pockets moving around.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get rid of it? I already eat healthily and eat stuff like Kefir and am taking probiotic vitamins as well. I can't do much exercise as moving around jolts my shoulder but can go for slow walks. Is there anything else I can do?

I know air can get trapped during surgeries, I had awful trapped wind pain after I had my gallbladder out. Peppermint tea was a big help. Antibiotics are a nightmare for your gut micro biome, so definitely keep up with the probiotics and kefir etc. Sauerkraut is a good probiotic food, which is super easy to make as well, and foods such as bone broth are very nourishing and calming to the gut.
