Stabbing pain behind left ear

I know this is very general but for about 5 days now I've had an intermittent stabbing pain in my head behind my left ear. It's not a headache type pain and it's not that painful but it does make me wince a bit when it happens. It happens numerous times throughout the day. Today I've noticed that area/side of face feels a bit numb/tingly.

I've tried googling but it only comes up with headaches and migraines, which it definitely isn't.

I'm starting to panic now and thinking all sorts. Is it worth bothering 111 with?

I think yes phone 111, this is what they are for. Hope it goes away soon and you feel better.

Have phoned 111. As there's no obvious signs of a stroke or anything they've just said to monitor it.

Could it be an inner ear infection? That's a stabbing pain for me. I suggest an appointment with the GP when you can so they can have a look inside your ear.

Hope it goes away soon.

I'd want my ears checked as what you describe is what I have with an ear infection.

Thanks, hadn't thought of an ear infection, could it still be that even if my ear doesn't hurt?

I had a bad infection that started out like you describe. I think I'd give it a couple of days and if it continues or gets worse get it looked at.

But you have been monitoring it - for five days or so, and it's no better.
Try to get an appointment with a GP, I would say.
