Hand hold please

I really need a hand hold. My DH is in intensive care with what may be lung failure.

We're 38 with a 7 y.o DS who is so so close to him.

I'm struggling so much.

Thank you. I've been messaging my friends family earlier but everyone is asleep and now my mind is going crazy.

I'm going over and over a conversation I had earlier with his dr and they're so vague as test are currently ongoing but it's pretty obvious he won't be getting better.

I may never see him again.

Our son adores him. How do we carry on

He's so kind. Amazing father. He does everything for us. I don't know how I'll cope without him. He is the better parent. We have so many little in jokes and everywhere I look there are stories and memories attached to stuff. It's hard to take my mind off it and calm down. I'm so tense. When we talked over the phone we end up getting upset which didn't help

Have you managed any sleep? I know it sounds trite, but keep looking after yourself, even if it’s just a cup of tea for now.

I tried sleeping and managed an hour. I'm so tense and my heart is racing. I just want news and to be kept updated. Supposed to be going back to work today after having mon and Tue off but I really dont think I'm safe driving with so little sleep

Goodness no. Are your work being reasonable?
In this bit of the night when updates are not possible, can you try to to switch off a little with radio/mindless TV/audio book? Just to give your brain a tiny break.I find a voice in the background comforting. It’s good you got some sleep.

I don't know how work will react but I'm not sure what else I can do.

I have just been listening to calming music on spotify in the living room but have come back to bed. It's that awful feeling when you've managed to get some sleep but it all comes flooding back when you wake up that I dread

That’s a horrible feeling. It doesn’t sound as if you should be at work tomorrow. Hopefully they will be understanding. I hope you manage some more sleep xxx

No I'm not allowed to visit. It's so inhumane. He's so scared too

My elderly dad has just spent 4 weeks in hospital. After 2 weeks my mum was able to visit.
