Heavy periods

Not sure if this is the right section!

I came off the pill late last year so my periods started again.

I was always heavy but since Christmas my first 48 hours is ridiculous. I'm am bleeding through a tampon and night pad in about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Does anyone with really heavy periods use an alternative to tampons/pads?

I have seen period pants and these cups, but being so heavy I'm not sure how heavy a flow they can deal with?

Tranexamic acid.
You used to be able to get it over the counter in boots, not sure if you still can, but Drs also prescribe it. I was on it for years as a super plus tampon & night pad would only last about 40 mins without it. I was always too scared to try cups!
