My DD2 - 26 months - vomitted last Thursday. I restricted her food after that and she was a bit lethargic and clingy all of Friday. Saturday morning she seemed like she was back to normal. She ate as normal but in the afternoon she was groaning and seemed to have abdominal pain. Eventually she was sick.

On Sunday morning she appeared to be back to normal again. She was a bit lethargic but also she played and ate quite normally. This morning she seemed 100% back to normal. Chatty, eating and playing. I left her with the childminder and was called back an hour later. Again DD2 was acting lethargic and wanting to lie down. She also had a loose nappy.

I've had her at home and in the living room for the past 4 hours and she's slept on and off. She seems to want to lie her head down. She's not eaten much. what is the matter with her? Every so often she chats to me normally but then seems like it is an effort to sit up. She doesn't seem desperately ill, but still, doesn't seem right.

Is there a virus going round like this at the moment?

I had something similar, but never vomited - just nausea and dizziness and exhaustion, but very much on/off. Lasted about five days in all.

My dd2, 11 months, has been throwing up every hour or two for 24 hours, is exhuasted but managing to drink enough to stay out of hospital - this is a different virus, accompanied by runny nose and deep cough. Some lovely sick bugs going round, eh?!

Hope your dd is better soon.

So long as she is drinking and doesn't go floppy, I don't need to tske her to the doctor I assume.

Yes, we all had it here

Vomiting one day then not the next and then she would start being sick again, sorry to say it went on for about 5/6 days. I had it too and if it is the same thing she won't be feeling too good it makes you all achey and sore with a headache too.

Hope she feels better soon

Yes we had it here too see my thread titled weird stomach bug. Both dcs had it and both had a day off being sick inbetween then I had it and it went on for ages.

Hmm, no day off here, assume its a different one then

Yes, as long as drinking, and not dehydrated, should be ok - if her breathing seems too fast/wheezy, or her ribs pull in with the effort of breathing, or if her fingernail doesn't go pink again within 2 seconds when you squeeze it, or if she can't cry wet tears anymore, take her to A&E. Or if you feel really worried, for that matter - I'm all for intuition
