Abdominal issues

ilkleymoorbartat · 03/06/2021 20:50

I've been having abdominal issues for a while now. Ranging from really excessive gas, grumbling tummy. Loose stools occasionally in the morning, to more recently a stitch like feeling on my right side under my ribs.

I've had bloods and a stool sample which all came back normal. What should I be asking for next with the gp?

I would start eliminating certain food groups, one at a time, and see if that has an effect.

Geamhradh · 04/06/2021 22:26

Gallbladder?

CatherineCawood · 04/06/2021 22:27

Agreed they sound like typical gallbladder symptoms. Ask for a CT scan.

ilkleymoorbartat · 05/06/2021 21:04

Ok thank you I'll ask.

Can I just ask, do gallbladder issues come and go, so not necessarily there constantly. Also not excruciating pain?

Yes 100% come and go. You have attacks rather than constant pain.

Geamhradh · 05/06/2021 22:56

Definitely. I've been fine for 2 days, yet on Thursday thought I was dying.

ilkleymoorbartat · 06/06/2021 07:29

What causes it ? I thought I was pretty healthy!

Could it be a dairy allergy ?

ilkleymoorbartat · 06/06/2021 07:37

I don't think it's a dairy allergy.

I was just wondering what caused gallbladder issues. Never thought I'd get something like that.

They are hereditary to an extent. They used to say fair, fat and forty but not sure that is an actual thing!

kissmelittleass · 07/06/2021 00:44

I had very similar symptoms for years and only recently found I have diverticula and probably IBS.
Could it be diverticula?

Mumma02 · 07/06/2021 20:44

Following with interest as I have the EXACT same symptoms...

blahblahblah321 · 07/06/2021 22:02

@Mumma02

Following with interest as I have the EXACT same symptoms...
Me too...

And I'm fair, fat and forty... Blush

lazylinguist · 07/06/2021 22:26

You don't have to be unhealthy to get gallstones. They are pretty common. Some people have excruciating pain, some more grumbling pain. It's intermittent, often triggered by eating high-fat foods.

Bellybutton88 · 24/03/2022 05:40

Hi just wondered if you figured out what it was?

ilkleymoorbartat · 24/03/2022 07:50

No! And still ongoing. I've had an ultrasound too. They saw a gallbladder polyp but nothing else.

Bellybutton88 · 24/03/2022 09:33

Have you considered a colonoscopy?

ilkleymoorbartat · 24/03/2022 09:42

I've actually just been to the gp and been referee

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy (and CT scan and ultrasound) recently for similar issues.
My symptoms were/are: eipgastric pain, pain especially under right ribs, pain near belly button, grumbling, gurgling stomach, burping, nausea and general upset feeling stomach - like its in a washing machine, acid reflux, occasional feeling of lump in throat, diarrhea on and off. Also bizarrely pain in the right ovary area that feels like it shoots down from the upper right pain.

My results were - colon fine, pancreas and gallbladder fine, small benign liver cyst found incidentally. What the did find was stomach inflammation on biopsy which meant gastritis, and H Pylori infection.
Treatment is 2 different antibiotics and omperazole. Still feeling pretty awful.

ilkleymoorbartat · 12/04/2022 16:45

I'm so scared it's something serious. I've had 2 gallbladder ultrasounds now. Nothing but one polyp found. Still grumbling stomach.

FIT test fine, Bloods fine. I've read two article recently about people with same symptoms as me being diagnosed with bowel cancer.

I have an initial colonoscopy appointment booked for 2 weeks time, but am beside myself now.

Please don't stress until results of colonoscopy. It really can be anything at this point. Also avoiding reading too much if you can.
