Am seeing GP re heavy periods. Have been using Tranexemic acid for a while. It works, but the GP I saw last time for repeat actually wants to investigate possible causes (unlike previous GPs). I have had several blood tests, a couple of which I understand (iron/thyroid). But she also ordered hormone and white/red blood count tests. What will she be looking for there do you think? Will get results later this week, just want to be prepared for what she might say. Thanks.

Sorry to gate crash, i've had really heavy periods since dd. should i go on the pil which i hate. Was that what you had to do 1st or are you on the pill as well?

was on the pill for years, but DH had a vasectomy so I came off it. GPs have always just said "it's your age" and given me tablets to reduce the bleeding, and they do help. Last GP I saw said she wanted to investigate further to see she can find out what is causing it. It's a nuisance, isn't it? Would go have a chat to your GP to be honest.
