Bruises Spreading

I've had a few days in hospital with a canula in my hand. I've been out since Tuesday. Ever since I've had brusing on my hand that seems to get a little bigger everyday. I think this is normal but DH is stressing. Who's right?

It is probably deep bruising caused by the cannula insertion gradually coming to the surface. I always get this and it can take a couple of weeks for it to fully come out. Unless it becomes more painful, swollen, hot or itchy or the bruising develops a red inflamed edge it shouldn't be anything to worry about. But do get it looked at quickly if you get any of those symptoms or if anything else about it worries you.
