URGENT how do you get a fish bone out of your throat

Had cod and chips in a pub at lunchtime. Since getting home can feel something sharp way back in my throat. When I swallow it scratches my throat and makes me want to gag. Horribe, horrible, horrible. Tried gargling, gulping down water. Can't see anything in mirror. NHS Direct web site no help at all.

Eat a piece of soft bread - think the idea is that it will "absorb" the fishbone.

Isn't it something like eating white bread? - the cheapest stuff that's all cloggy. How horrible. Hope you get it out soon!

Old wives tale try eating bread to see if it dislodges it but ask somebody to see if they can see it - shine a torch on back of throat it might be worth getting a professional to take it out for you.

Eat some dry bread to shift it. Sometimes,though, even when it's gone, it might still feel like it's there because it has scratched your throat.

Or some potato.

I went to a & e with mine and they picked it out with a long pair of twizers
