Can a very old c section scar get infected?

This is gross btw.

Had my 2nd Caesarian 13 years ago. I was getting undressed on Sunday and noticed a really awful smell. Realised it was coming from my c scar, its very red and weeping.
I've been putting Sudocrem on twice daily but it doesn't seem to be healing. I do have overhang due to my weight 🤢

Any ideas on how to get rid of this? I am currently losing weight but I feel very uncomfortable atm.

I really think you need to ring your GP. Might just be an infected fold made worse for being solid with the scar tissue, just ensure going forward nothing rubs it and you wash daily and pat dry the area.

Definitely see a GP. Don’t hang about with weeping skin!

I would go to the GP. It definitely sounds like some kind of infection. Have you tried an antiseptic cream instead of sudocreme?

I don't know if the wound can get infected, but if you have the dreaded overhanging apron of skin, you can get sweat rashes and infections. In the same way you would on your feet Envy (not envy). I need to use a roll on deodorant under my apron Envy

Could be fungal...I'd try some canesten...my scar which is 26 and 28 years old gets a little smelly as I have an overhang too worse thanks to lockdown weight gain grrr

Had to canesten my 22 year old under hang a few weeks ago.

It’s thrush, growing in the damp dark depths. Try to keep it dry and cool. Mine gets bad, overhang the same. I keep it dry on each loo visit. The only time it got better was when I lost some weight.

Sorry, it sucks xx

Did you contact your GP @Forestiere** ?
Hope you are on the mend.
