My ds had his booster jabs on Thursday and since Friday his leg around the injection site is hot, red, hard and itchy.

He does not seem to have a temperature or anything. He is acting a bit over excitable and touchy, which i have put down to the injections. He has complained his leg is itchy, but not painful. He is always scratching it if he has no trousers on.

He did not have this reaction with the first set of jabs. The nurse did warn me the site can swell, but I did not think it would last this long (is 2 days long?).

What were your dc's like after their injections? Not sure whether to take him to the doctor or not, as he does not seem poorly otherwise?

What do you think?

When eldest manky got his preschool boosters, he had them in his arm. The one with the tetanus mix in it was red, swollen and hard. He also said it was itchy/sore. The nurse said it was normal, although it lasted a week or so with him. Middle mankys arm was a bit sore and swollen, but not so bad.....She ended up with the measles rash round her neck too.
I would always err on the side of caution and call your nurse or NHS 24.
