Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has expirenced this as I'm a bit worried but I do have a doctor's appointment booked - over the last week or so everytime I've had a bowel movement there has been a lot of red blood in the bowl, no pain or anything but with it being red I ignored it, yesterday I was having a bath so got the bath ready, went to the toliet, same thing again but when I stood up my bum sort of "weed" blood all over the floor, again it was red but it was concerning as that has never happened before, I had a c section 4 months ago and I'm not sure if there's a correlation there but has anyone expirenced this more the blood all over the floor and everything's been okay?

Thank you and sorry if it's vulgar, I'm just a bit worried.

I'd ring the NHS for that I think. A lot of red blood is not good I dont think....

I did ring 111 and explained the situation but they didn't seem that concerned and told me to speak to my GP which I have this morning, they've booked me an appointment for tomorrow for an examination and to be fair it hasn't happened since but it was worrying.

If it's very bright red then it's fresh blood and possibly comes from a broken blood vessel which gets squeezed as you do a BM. This is generally no big deal but best to get it checked out just to put your mind at rest.

Diverticular disease can cause bleeding from small amounts up to very large amounts. Bright red blood just means the source of the bleeding is low down in your system. It’s good that you’re being seen - hope you get some answers soon.

Do you have piles op by any chance?

DustyMaiden · 25/05/2021 20:07

Haemorrhoids, I had this was quite alarming. Dr said it is typical of haemorrhoids.

koalaroobear · 25/05/2021 20:20

I had this, albeit with a lot of pain, and am having a second surgery to inject Botox into the sphincter in a week, to fix an anal fissure. Been going on for nearly 2 and a half years now.

Thisisjaaam · 26/05/2021 19:19

Piles or fissure perhaps

MinnieJackson · 26/05/2021 20:38

How did it go OP?

Electricavenuee · 28/05/2021 07:27

How did GP appointment go

PennyDreadful66 · 28/05/2021 10:18

Thank you to the posters asking how it went and those who have been very reassuring, I'm sure it's nothing serious, I couldn't go as my DS had a bit of a bad reaction to his vaccinations and wasnt happy all day so gonna book another appointment, it's just impossible with my surgery, you call at 8am and all the appointments are gone

I have this quite often. Some days I worry and some days I don't. I should probably see Gp about it but keep putting it off. I think mine is piles because I can feel them and the blood isn't in my poo it's when I wipe (sorry TMI)
