Thats it really. Am 12 weeks pg with horrible sinisitus, and I am fed up of the pain in my upper jaw. Have been prescribed codine, but that is making me feel very dizzy and sick, so now i want a cure rather than just a painkiller! My mum told me to use Olbas but is it safe in pregnancy? (I haven't told her yet )

doc told me when I had sinusitis while pg that it was just about the only thing that was safe, and doc also told me to put it on ds's vest when he had a cold at about three weeks old.

I'm sure it will be fine.

Tis awful when you're sick at this stage on top of everything else!

Thats great thanks Squonk. I have felt really terrible for almost two weeks now, have been signed off work until Wednesday, but I honestly don't seem to be getting any better. I was sent from the walk in centre to hospital earlier this week as I couldn't feel half of my face, only to be told it was probably my sinuses! I will go and dig out dds Olbas now

LilLamb,
I used it through both pregnancies and didn't even give it a thought till after... both my boys turned out fine, but have you tried googling it?
Hope you feel better soon.

you could try sticking your head over a bowl full of steamy water - put a few drops of olbas oil in that, it should help.

obviously don't stick your head in the boiling water. It may sort out the sinusitis, but will bring a whole new set of ishooes

Thanks. If I can bore you a bit more about this, is there any particular reason I would be more prone to this in pregnancy? Or is it just that I have a particuarly yucky virus? I had my tonsils out at Easter, so my imagination is working overtime and thinking, well, infection LOVED my tonsils, so maybe it's just found somewhere else to go....?

don't know the answer, but I only ever had it while pg.
