DH enlarged liver & raised ALT

Hello all

Looking for a few RL experiences.

DH had routine bloods done for discomfort in his upper abdomen when eating - describes it as a full feeling. GP prescribed the NHS version of Gaviscon and sent him on his way, which didn't do anything. Fortunately we have private medical with work so booked an appointment with Bupa.

Consultant requested routine bloods which were all normal except for the raised ALT which was 104 (pretty high)

He had a ultrasound scan done today and was advised his liver was slightly enlarged.

His consultant has mentioned the possibility of fatty liver disease but I'm assuming they will do some more tests and then diagnose.

Weirdly his mother is also being tested for her liver as she has shown some abnormal test results - genetic perhaps?

Anyway has anyone had any experiences like this before? Hopefully it's nothing too serious. He's only 30! Not massively over weight but I would say his BMI puts him in the obese category. He also holds a lot of fat around his stomach rather than anywhere else.

Thanks
