Very sore nipples.

I have had super sore nipples for about a week. Definitely not pregnant. Not had a period for 2 years ish, as I have a Mirena coil. No trauma to the area, nobody has been near them for months! But they've been so sore, I've had to resort to Ibuprofen today. Has anyone any experience of this, or ideas of what is causing it?

Probably worth talking to your GP if it’s been a full week.

Thoughts: is your bra too tight? Have you changed laundry detergent? When are you due for a replacement coil? Have you done anything that could change your hormone balances, e.g., new diet or exercise regimen?

Coil due for replacement in about 18 months. I wear stretchy jersey type bralets, as have quite small boobs. I do exercise a lot, but have done all my life.
Might try and have a chat with my GP tomorrow. Was even thinking weight gain, but I haven't actually put any on.
Pain was stopping me sleeping the other night 🙁
