When you have surgery does air get into your body? Do you end up having a bubble of air in you....?

When you have a c-section does air get inside your womb and need to escape....?

cos I SWEAR..... I have air escaping.. like little front bottom pumps....

Sorry. BUT ITS SO WEIRD!!!!

Any thoughts?

I know I am always full of wind after my c-sections. DH would say it's a permanent pstate of affairs though .
I always make sure I drink lots of peppermint tea or cordial...disgusting but it works.

TotalChaos · 16/11/2007 21:19

I think it's pretty common to have lots of wind after any sort of abdominal surgery.

DettaJnr · 16/11/2007 21:21

I think that the cervix never remains entirely closed once you have had a pregnancy and especially if you have given birth vaginally.

I have had two c sections and a vaginal delivery and it is more noticable now than after first child.

mossycow · 16/11/2007 21:23

Hmmmmm. Maybe I should clarify that the wind is not coming from my back passage....

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

(giggle....)

So I'm not imagining it. Strange cos had c-section and I presumed my vagina would be 'normal'

no fanny farts common whether you've had a CS or vaginal IME........practice your pelvic floor exercises - helps tighten things up a bit and lessen the farts

mossycow · 16/11/2007 21:39

Am squeezing as i type.... thanks guys. My husband has been amused when I giggle and explain its because I've been fanny farting...
