This might seem an odd one but I'd be really grateful for any advice.
Whenever I get a cold, my voice goes - it affects my larynx and I sound like a Dalek, not great when you're a special school teacher and can't rely on facial expression/gesture to get you through. It hurts like hell and I can't do more than 5 minutes talking without the tone disintegrating.
With about 3 days complete rest, it comes back but I have to be outside the classroom in the meantime. I do have a relatively low voice for a female, I sing as an alto, but if anyone has any strategies to get over this, please let me know.
