have the "rules" on going private then back to NHS changed?

A few years ago I paid to see a neurologist privately to avoid a waiting list of many months. He then placed me on his NHS list "as if" I'd always been on the NHS and I had the scans/tests he ordered on the NHS.

This was, I think, around 2015.

Since then I think I recall reading on here that the rules have now changed - is that right? Can anyone advise me?

No, rules haven't changed. I saw a private ENT consultant in December and he referred me back to the NHS for an MRI. They offered me one in Feb but I couldn't make it so waiting for another appointment still. Should have gone with the Feb one! Not urgent though so I can wait.
