Hi i have cervical ectropion that bleeds after sex and i also get vaginal discharge because of the ectropion. Does anyone have cervical ectropion and never chose to get the cervical ectropion treated?

I had mine cauterised and that stopped all the random spotting/bleeding. I had an anaesthetic as they did it as part of a hysteroscopy. Have you been told if it is likely to heal if just alone?

It hadnt been too long. I had a painful smear test and the nurse spotted it then. After that I kept spotting so after a few months was sent for an ultrasound where they thought they could see a polyp, booked for hysteroscopy where they cauterised the extropian whilst I was there.

I chose to not have treatment. I don't always bleed after sex but most times, and 50% of those are more than just spotting.
The doctor said I could have it cauterised but chances are it would come back so as it doesn't affect me day to day, I thought I would just leave it. If it gets worse then I'll reconsider.

I had mine cauterised about 15 years ago and haven't experienced any bleeding since; there was usually quite a lot of blood and so it was fairly distressing. I was very worried about the procedure, but it was actually fine, and I was very relieved that it sorted the issue.
