Hello. I have cervical ectropion with symptoms like bleeding after sex and vaginal discharge. Is there anyone who had cervical ectropion and never got the cervical ectropion treated?

I was diagnosed with this many years ago during a smear test. I've never felt any need to have any kind of treatment, as the only symptomI ever experienceis occasionally somelight bleeding after sex. Unless it's causing you some physical distress I would just ignore it 🤷.

I had one. I didn't do anything about it for years as it didn't cause me any bother, but it eventually got worse and caused a lot of post coital bleeding. I ended up having it treated at Colposcopy (sp?) and they used silver nitrate to heal it. It didn't hurt and I've had no problems with it since!

I’ve never had it treated. Was diagnosed at 18, I’m 31 this year, although it’s never really caused bleeding or anything for me. The only downside is that it caused some bleeding at 6w pregnant, which was quite stressful! But it seems to have settled.

I had it along with a load of other fertility issues, and so I did get it sorted, to ensure there wasn't another reason for bleeding during /after sex. The op was simple and easy. I also had pain during deep penetrative sex and that sorted it out too.

I had it a couple of years ago picked up on a routing smear. Never even knew I had it and never had any symptoms. Never had it treated, that was 3 years ago

Routine not routing (autospell)

I was diagnosed by a GP 8 years ago and never had it treated as symptoms immediately stopped . I've had 2 clear smears since , one only few weeks ago which came back clear and the nurse mentioned it's still there so it's been with me at least 8 years !
What does worry me a bit though is someone mentioned that they thought it was routine to refer a patient with suspected cervical erosion to a gynaecologist just to make sure that that is what it definitely is . I was never referred? Was everyone else here referred? Or just diagnosed by a by a nurse / gp?

Thank you 😊
