Last 4 days, DS who is 3 has experienced what is close to diahorrea - really loose but not total water (sorry I know it's TMI!!!). It's only once a day at teatime and he only just makes it to the toilet. In all other ways he's perfectly fine, good mood, very healthy appetite, sleeping well, doesn't complain of sore tummy etc. He is keeping everything down, doesn't have temp or being sick or anything. Phoned NHS direct and they said just keep away from dairy and just give water not juice or milk and weren't concerend as it's only once in 24 hrs and not accompanied by sickness. Has anyone else had this with their children of this age as it's quite unusual for him to have bowel problems and like I say I wouldn't describe him as ill at all which makes it strange and worrying!

My dd was like this for about four weeks and my neighbours ds for a couple of weeks.
Think it is some odd thing going around.

My 2yo had this all last week too, it seems to be going around. All she wanted to eat was plain pasta or bread, so I presume it was a bug of some sorts

Thanks, it's just so unlike ds bless him. Trying to make sure he just has bland for a couple of days to see if that helps his system recover.

My 3year old DS has had this on and off for 3 weeks. Fine for a couple of days and then going to the toilet 2 or 3 times for 3-4 days. Kept stopping and starting his milk but not sure how much difference it really made. Thought we were over bug as has been fine but today he has been unwell with temperature, going to the toilet and 4 spots on his neck and body. Hoping it is not chickenpox!

DS2 (now 6) sometimes gets something like this. It carried on for a week about a month ago. I do a day of feeding him only white rice products and no dairy - dry Rice Krispies for breakfast and lunch and plain boiled rice for tea. Surprisingly he accepts this and it always works.

Could be toddler diarrhoea - my elder 2 had this for a year or more each - they were both healthy, just really explosive, runny poos, with undigested food in. Thankfully ds2 seems to tend the other way, as it's not nice!
