Knee swelling

Hey all

A bit of background: I have battled anorexia since I was 15 and in turn done a considerable amount of walking over time.

One day a few years ago my knee sort of gave way and it's never quite been the same. It has progressively gotten stiff and increasingly swollen/painful/feels like its on fire and worse in cold weather. I have been to the GP a few times and have been either told it'll go away or its tendinitis. Is it worth pushing for an xray or paying for private physio? Anyone have any insight?

Thanks!

I found the physio really helpful and not that expensive.

You should be able to get physio via NHS, often these are the same physios who also work privately as well. Have a look and see if you can self refer-many places allow that now, much quicker. They can take the full history and test the individual structures in the knee to see what’s happening.
