Private health care quote

Does anyone know of a way to get a rough idea of the cost of private health care without being bombarded by phone calls? I did this a couple of years ago, thinking it would be like Compare the Market but it's not..the companies call you and then hound you!

I realise there is more to it than motor insurance but I just don't have the time or inclination to answer calls and then have then doing the hard sell. I just want to know if it is affordable for me or not.

I don't know the answer to your actual question, but be aware the quotations may not be equal in terms of covering pre-existing conditions, co-pays (excess payment after a claim), whether you can choose your own specialist etc. Read the small print carefully!

Why not ask on here to see if anyone knows?

When I say ‘if anyone knows’, what I really mean is ‘what others pay’ don’t I? So start a thread asking ‘if you pay for your own health insurance - how much is it’.

Reddit and MSE are also good for this - May have been asked recently.

put a fake mobile number in and your actual email address if there's an option to get quotes sent by email.
Mine is corporate but my tax statement has an allowance for it of £680 a year.

Why not contact a broker who can put different options to you. It’s a complex market with lots Sof different products. Impossible to give you a figure - all depends on age, pre-existing conditions, level of cover you want, excess.

I’ve had a generic quote of £850 per person or £2500 for 2 adults + 2 children with one of the big private providers. That’s before going into health details. Loads of stuff is excluded and first £100 not covered.
