Sudden hives/tiny itchy bites, what’s going on?

Apologies for the pictures but I’m at a loss. For the last couple of weeks I’ve been bothered by crops of little spots, mostly on my arms but a few on my legs. The ones pictured are on my elbows and forearm . For background, we have no pets though I do spend a lot of time outside with my toddler. Haven’t changed my washing powder or bath or shower products. I started a low carb diet about 6 weeks ago which I’d going well, I’ve lost a stone (have about 2 more to go). I’m fairly stressed but aren’t we all. I had blood tests within the last year for both hormones and thyroid as my periods have gone a bit haywire, changing from erratically spaced normal/heavy to just one heavy day regularly but about a fortnight a month if just raging PMT, and I’ve felt wiped out and a bit depressed. Thyroid came back borderline for problems and menopause bloods were similarly inconclusive. My GP suggested antidepressants for some of the month to deal with the PMT but I’ve not taken her up on that. I tend towards anaemia anyway, but apparently those bloods are also fine. But these spots are getting me down. They’re itchy and just appear randomly through the day which makes me think they’re a reaction to something rather than bites. I’ve stripped the bed many times and no sign or anything that might be bedbugs (god forbid!) Anyone have any insight? Thanks x
