IM PANICKING!

Hi basically I got a bacon barm this morning from my local bakery. I’m nearly 12 weeks pregnant and when I was eating it I noticed the bacon had a metallic green on it. Wasn’t mould but I don’t know what it was and now I’m panicking like god knows what 😭

Also, it wasn’t covered in it it was just little bits. I’ve noticed it before when I’ve bought bacon and it’s been on it but because I haven’t done the cooking myself I’m like am I gonna get food poisoning now and I’m panicking over the baby 😭 health anxiety is the worst!

It's just nitrates from the preservation process - nothing to worry about

It sometimes gets a green metallic sheen on it if it’s been vacuum-packed so that’s nothing at all to worry about. You’d have to eat bacon raw to have any ill-effects from it or it would taste noticeably different, and that would make you sick almost immediately. I know it’s easier said than done but try to forget all about it Flowers

Ah great thank you! Just because it was cooked and I could still see it that’s what’s made me panic. I’ll never order out bacon again 😂 xx
