Anyone have experience of hydroxychloroquine for rheumatoid arthritis?

I have been on sulphasalazine for 3 months, and whilst my inflammatory markers have gone down, they are not within the normal range yet.

My consultant wants me to start on hydroxychloroquine in addition, but I am still breastfeeding my 21 week old ds. The consultant and one website say it is OK, but the British National Formulary say not - as in 'Avoid - toxic to infant'.

So, who do I believe?

pretty certain I was on hydroxychoroquine when breastfeeding, can't remember, exactly!

I'll see if I can find out.....

I took it pre kids
Stuff online implies that it could build up in the baby

this site, I think referring to the American Academy of Paediatrics has it listed as approved for use in breastfeeding

and this one but it uses the same list (look under antimalarials)
