Random finger bruise?

Anyone ever had a random finger bruise? I haven't injured it. I was sitting in the garden when I had a sudden sharp pain in my finger and then this bruise appeared quite quickly 🤔

I get these a lot on my fingers and hands, very painful to touch and a bruise. I had heard that it was a ruptured tiny blood vessel, although I've never had a doctor diagnose anything.

We're you bitten perhaps?

I get them too. No clue what causes them

I get those sometimes. I think it might be Achenbach's syndrome, apparently rare but harmless.

picklemewalnuts · 26/04/2021 18:58

I get them! Just delicate vessels prone to popping.

Might be worth getting a blood test done- they aren't sinister, but may appear along with thyroid, menopause or hypermobility.

Achenbach I reckon too. I get them. Thinking about it I haven't had one since I stopped drinking alcohol..
They bloody hurt dont they?

If you get these, putting a plaster on firmly (not too tight helps minimise the bleeding / pain) - but you need to do it as soon as you feel it for it to help.

Yes, i had this a couple of weeks ago! Completely out of the blue (I'd just taken the bins out but hadn't knowingly caused it any trauma). The lovely people on here identified Achenbach syndrome. It hurt a lot for a day or so but went away.
