Hi I got endoscopy last week and I was told i had a 2cm hiatus hernia. Report says stomach normal duodenum normal oesophagus Hiatus hernia 2cm they didn't seem to take biopsies.as nothing in report about them....I got a appointment to see my gastro consultant on the 30th April . That seems awful soon . Im overthinking everything now and worrying they haven't told me something. My partner says this is normal and to not be ridiculous they wouldn't hide that there is something wrong from me and not put it on the report . Has anyone else got a follow up that quick ?

My experience was pretty similar in that I got the results immediately after the endoscopy. Then had a followup appointment with the gastro consultant quite soon afterwards to discuss medication, treatment etc.

In my hospital they gave me the date for the consultant appointment at the same time as they gave me the date for the endoscopy so before they had even done it and had no idea of the results.

My 94 year old DF did have bad news from his endoscopy and he was told at the time immediately after the endoscopy so I do not think they will have kept anything from you.

I agree with your partner but it is so easy to read more into hospial appointments when you are worried but I dont think you need to be worried they are keeping anything from you.

Thanks peachu

Was that with the NHS ?

Yep NHS.

Oh something else I remembered my DD had a endoscope for coeliac disease and when she had the endoscope the receptionist had to alter her follow up appointment with the consultant as Coeliac biopys would not be ready in time. Her appointment was moved back by an extra 2 weeks.

So again her appointment would have been soon after her endo.

Thank you

That really helps put my mind at rest . Was this during covid too ?

My anxiety just gets the better of me.
