Had an awful night...woke at midnight ( bed at 9) with burning feeling in middle of stomach. Was up till 5 just walking round the house in pain....went to my back. Was sick several times and went to the toilet at least 8 times.
When I bent over double with the pain, it made me vomit.
I have had some very mild sporadic discomfort with my stomach for a few weeks...mainly when I bend over.
My diet is good...mainly veggie but I have had more wine than usual this week. I also had red meat for the first time in a year this week. Had yearly checkup blood tests recently...all good...and normally I'm very healthy.

Feel drained this morning.

Sounds like it could be gastritis to me. I'm a teetotal veggie but v prone to gastritis. If you think it could be that, Nexium works quite well (supermarket shelves) until you get to see the Doc. Empty stomach isn't good for it, so if you can keep a couple of crackers down or something equally boring then that might help. And avoid the vino!

I hope you're ok, it sounds miserable.

I agree sounds like it could be gastritis. I’ve had it recently - I found silicolgel worked an absolute treat. Agree that seeing a dr would be wise. Till you can see/speak to them there are lots of over the counter options available from the pharmacist - from peptac to omeprazole.

Another vote for gastritis, I have recently been diagnosed with it and just coming to the end of the prescribed course of omeprazole which has taken the pains away
(Teetotal, slim, active, vegetarian, for context)

Thank you!! I will try and get a telephone consultation with the doctor today. I actually slept last night which was great.

@AuntieMarys As a matter of interest, have you had Covid? I had Covid in December and now have similar symptoms to you. Google suggests this can be a symptom of long Covid.

Miasicarisatia · 26/04/2021 11:27

I've not had covid to my knowledge but it's possible I've had it a asymptomatically and this could be part of the aftermath! I hadn't even thought of that 👀

AuntieMarys · 26/04/2021 16:37

No covid here! I've contacted doctor so have 48 hour wait for a call back
