Shingles

Adult child diagnosed with shingles. Classic symptoms, blistery rash on one side of the body.
I have been feeling itchy, burning skin on arms and torso for a few days. Have a rash under my boob, but not blistery more like a rubbed raw patch. I put it down to new meds I’m on.
What’s the chances of me having shingles - but they don’t look like my child’s symptoms and isn’t painful as such, just very irritating.

You can't catch shingles from someone as far as I know but if you haven't had chicken pox you can get that.

GloveFromAbove · 24/04/2021 22:35

Great thank you! Just thought I’d check!

Yeah, you can get chicken pox from contact with fluid from the shingles blisters but can't catch shingles from shingles

Heat rash? If it doesn't go remember changes to skin on breasts are best getting checked out

Shingles is bloody painful as well!

Covid causes a shingles type rash. Might be worth getting a test.

Agreed. I had shingles last year. I felt like my whole leg leg was burning where the rash was. Agony.

I’m having lateral flow tests twice a week and have no other symptoms. Have put hydrocortisone cream on my rash and it’s calming down.

Have you had a vaccine lately ? I had a shingles type rash after the Pfizer one, it was under my boob too.

GloveFromAbove · 25/04/2021 20:17

Oh yes I have actually. AZ though.

I had shingles 5 days after my first dose of Pfizer. Only a few spots down my torso but it was so painful!

Cocolapew · 25/04/2021 22:23

My rash was in exactly the same place, and looked like the same pattern of a bout shingles I had a few months ago Confused

I was diagnosed with shingles 2 weeks after my 2nd Pfizer jab. I felt awful & had a migraine with it I couldn't shake for 2 weeks. Rash on left side with fluid filled blisters.

It interesting that others are experiencing this after Pfizer. I saw a study that they did in Israel linking this also, but more so in those with autoimmune disorders.

I saw that too, I have Lupus so thought it might be because of that I had the rash, though it definitely wasn't shingles.
