Constipated often!

Ahhh I’m sick of this. I’m constipated way too often. I eat enough fibre (20-35g a day), drink lots of water throughout the day, exercise (my work involves me being on my feet all day) and I am not on any medication. I eat regular meals. Right now, I feel so bloated and uncomfortable. When I pass stools, they are usually hard. I don’t want to resort to laxatives.

Can someone please help? What helps you “go”?

Red split lentil included in any meals with sauce (bol, curry, pasta bake) have a great effect

Kefir Early research shows that taking kefir helps increase the number of bowel movements in people with constipation. It also seems to soften stools

Use a stool softener (not a laxative) for a couple of weeks to get your bowels into the habit of going. www.boots.com/dulcoease-soft-gel-100mg-30-capsules-10059475

Worth noting that Too much fiber in the diet can cause bloating, gas, and constipation

I'm always "backed up" as I have to take a lot of codeine. Laxido stool softener is good.

What got me going was Quinoa (think that's how you spell it). I was crapping through the eye of a needle after eating that.
