I have just started taking this, as i really want to give up, but do need a little help.

My friend used this and found it very helpful, so was just wondering if anyone else had any experience of it?

TIA

I have a friend who used this (plus a counseling group) and found it very effective. She's been "smoke-free" for a long time now.

Tee2072 · 27/11/2008 17:02

My husband used it last year and hasn't smoked since.

Good luck to everyone giving up!!

I gave up with champix for three months. Thought i had it sussed.
I did feel sick for the first week but it was ok if i took it after food.
I was really depressed and down with them but unsure if it was work? did the tablets make work bad or was it just work not sure?? I was tearful and very stressed.
I started smoking straight after i finished the tablets. It took me months to get back to my happy self.

nooka · 29/11/2008 22:58

Could well be the Champix. There are known side effects with depression and suicidal thoughts, which is why it should only be used with a counseling type approach alongside.

mumhadenough · 29/11/2008 23:14

I thought champix were fab. I stopped for six months no problems using them, but unfortunately I started again. Going to try again in the new year.

Like someone else said I felt a bit nauseous when taking them but fine after something to eat.

They are great. The hardest bit is actually doing the last fag thing and making the decision that NOW it is time.

Good luck!

5th day, smoke free, and birthday last night, had no wine as i knew i might have a cig, so no wine or cigs, and felt faboulous today !!

NeedCoffee · 19/01/2009 15:05

Am bumping for myself rather than starting a new thread about it, on the 3rd day and feeling pretty rotten, not sure if its the tablets or not!

NeedCoffee · 19/01/2009 15:05

anybody else?

NeedCoffee · 19/01/2009 21:07

LostVagueness · 28/01/2011 22:24

NeedCoffee: on day 8 now and puked today. Not sure if it was the chamix or the lemon chicken though. I have now noticed that I am smoking less and enjoying them less too. I hope you are getting on ok....Let me know eh?

TheSleepFairy · 28/01/2011 22:34

I tried Champix last year.
I couldn't take 2 tablets as 2 made me paranoid & gave me dreafull nightmares that would leave me depressed & tearfull all day & then I'd have the same nightmare all over again the next night so I only took one a day.

I remember going through a week or so of being very short tempered & argumentative, knocking on neighbours doors to complain about noise & general abuse shouting - not like me at all Grin

I did stop smoking for 4months but for one reason or another I started again.

I will try to stop again but I don't think I could take Champix again, the paranoia & nightmares were dreadfull.
