Hip bursitis injection

I have long term bursitis in my hip which I’ve had for about 15 years. It is not too bad and is manageable but is worse when I’m tired. I also have to avoid lying on that side. I started physio but am hopeless at keeping up with the exercises. My consultant did offer the steroid injection but I’m not sure whether to go for it. Has anyone had the injection? Any advice?

I had it around 4 years ago.
It wasn't in the least bit traumatic, but sadly didn't work for me.
My bursitis is much better than it was although still flares up now and again.

That’s interesting. I keep hoping it will subside but I think I’ve had it for too long now!

I think the steroid injection may not be a permanent fix....if at all..but it may make it easier to do the physio..

I had it twice. The first time it worked for about 3 weeks, the second time it worked for good. I had been doing physio exercises & Pilates conscientiously for several years and then changed physio. It was a game changer for me.
