Tonsillitis but no tonsils?

I’ve had a sore left side of my throat and sore left ear canal for a few days. I’m also feeling generally off-colour.

Could it be tonsillitis even though my tonsils were removed years ago?

Or does left side only mean it’s something else?

I had my tonsils removed in my early 20s due to reoccurring tonsilitis, I now get reoccurring bouts of laryngitis in its place Angry

NOT sure about the one side part, my throat hurts all over with laryngitis however that's just my experience with it so it could be the same thing or it could be something completely different. Sorry that's not much help I know. Hope you feel better soon x

I think tonsil tissue can grow back. I had mine out in my early 20s and while I don't get tonsillitis any more, I still get plenty of sore throats.

Must be a random sore throat then.

Luckily I’m not coughing, so it’s not laryngitis.

But tbh everytime was in so much pain not in a taste to start asking questions!
