Hemorrhoids or cancer worry.

Hello.
I will try to keep this short. When I was pregnant with my son who is now 18 I suffered really bad external hemorrhoids,after he was born it all settled but when he was about 3 I felt another tiny soft external lump that occasionally itched so I saw the doctor who said it was as skin tag left after a anal fissure. I have suffered from IBS for many years too (diarrhoea form) and have had about 3 or 4 sigmodoscopies and colonoscopies which were all clear, anyway fast forward to now and that little lump is still there and never has caused any problems until 2 days ago I suddenly had a lot of pain when sitting or standing,coughing or sneezing and hurt even to move my legs in bed. I went to the bathroom and this tiny external lump was now hard and bigger and so painful,it sits just below the opening to the anus. At this time I was also on my period so it was hard to tell if it was bleeding but as my period began to ease up I could tell this lump was intact bleeding, not a lot but still bleeding. I am sure it's just the external hemorrhoid playing up so I bought some germoloid pile cream and after 2 days the lump has got a bit smaller, still hard but a lot less painful and it only hurts when I poop,cough or sneeze so it's a lot more bearable but it is still bleeding and it's that I'm worried about,everywhere I've looked says it could be anal or bowel cancer Sad I have no other symptoms of this, no rectal bleeding just bleeding from the external lump and not from inside, no weight loss, no pain and no change in bowel patterns that is unusual for me. I did read if it is hemorrhoids it can take 7-10 days to heal and now I'm just entering day 3. I have a doctors appointment in 7 days to have my covid vaccine so if its still the same then I will ask to see the doctor. I do believe the cream im using is making a big difference to the size and pain just not the bleeding. Any help and advice would be great. I'm 41 and have naturally birthed 4 children and no family history of bowel cancer.
Sorry for long post.
Thank you xx

So it’s external? Same lump as before but hard and sore? Poor you it sounds painful. Is there any way you can take a photo and send it to the surgery (some surgeries are going this) to our your mind at rest?

Could also be an growing hair or blocked pore - they are painful.

Yes, it is external and same lump just harder,bigger, painful and bleeding. There is nothing inside and no rectal bleeding just all on outside. I was thinking of getting my husband to take a photo but obviously having my period I thought it probably wasn't too pleasant. I do think the cream is working to shrink it and helping the pain but still bleeding xx

I’d defiantly ring the surgery and ask them if the doctor can take a look at a photo. I wouldn’t want to advise a compress or anything because I’m. It a doctor!

The cream will take a while to shrink it down - you might need antibiotics. Any temperature or shivers?

No other symptoms at all, i feel absolutely fine in myself. My period should be done in a day or 2 so I will take a photo then if no difference. Forgot to mention that it itches too not majorly but mildly and a burning sensation when I poop. X

Maybe just check it's not thrombosed, one of mine did that a few years ago and it was very painful. Best advice I've had is to always try to push any prolapsed piles back inside to prevent that happening. But yes, definitely speak to a doctor about it!

AngelDust77 · 31/03/2021 13:34

I am unable to push it inside as it is external and grows on the outside, just didn't know if it sounded like an aggravated hemorrhoid or something more sinister Sad

Did you get to the bottom of this same thing I am experiencing now. External pile that bleeds after being painful it shrunk but still there and still bleeds but very very little. I know it was the external pile bc I checked from where the blood was coming .

@Palpal12
I have this too, started to panic a bit when I read this, would like to hear if the original poster is okay

Palpal12 · 12/10/2021 03:19

I hope you get better. I still see minor bleeding day 3 it’s the hemorrhoids just wonder if that’s normal .
