Hiya
My brother is 64 this year.
Dad had heart attacks at 60 and several more up to 70-ish
but always made good recovery and walked around did gardening etc, etc . He had a massive stroke at 72 and passed away within 24 hours.

A sister has angina since 50-sih and on BP tablets since then now she is just under 70.

The doc tell my brother he is ok as his average readings are about, 131- 86 over 7 days measured a few mins after getting out of bed and then about 8pm to 9pm. He had a 24 hour monitor and a few spikes at nights. He gets spikes during the day as well about 155 - 91/92 but often he can be about 123/83/84.

He is not overweight, diabetic, little exercise and at 5'8 he is 64kgs ie good bmi. He has reduced salt intake year ago and carbs and reduce alcohol last 9/11 months drinks weekends only about 6/7 units Sat and 4/5 on Sundays at night time.

I read that some countries start giving tablets earlier as their thresholds compared to uk are lower

UK norm up to 130 over 85 and a few countries USA - japan korea etc see this as high.
Thanks
