there is a line in each window, but the 'pregnancy' line is VERY VERY faint and is going the wrong way, as you look at the test both lines should be vertical but the positive line is horizontal, what does this mean? she is going nuts! HELP!

what brand is it?

paulaplumpbottom · 09/11/2007 10:15

Is it clear blue easy?

SweetFA · 09/11/2007 10:17

Do another one - diff brand if poss. They are very cheap in Wilkinsons.

kittyletteItBe · 09/11/2007 10:18

If its one of the ones where a + comes up then it sounds negative.

if it were + there should also be a line going down too.

Or its a faulty test.

Can you take a photo?

SweetFA · 09/11/2007 10:18

If it's horizontal, sounds like the little bit of paper has been put in sideways??

Maybe take it to chemist and say it's faulty, you might get a free one!

SweetFA · 09/11/2007 10:19

Is the line grey or pink though?

QueenofVenus · 09/11/2007 10:20

no photo, my camera is not working.
Its a tesco brand it says on the box just a straight line in each box if positive, or just one if negative, but it doesnt say anything about a line being in the wrong direction!!

Does she have any pregnancy symptoms at all and how far gone would she be?

The only thing you can do really to be sure is get another test or show the result you have to the chemist maybe?

QueenofVenus · 09/11/2007 10:22

both lines purple

kittyletteItBe · 09/11/2007 10:22

is it the control line or the results line thats going across?

kittyletteItBe · 09/11/2007 10:24

read this

number 26

SweetFA · 09/11/2007 10:24

I think if it's got some colour it's a line. And she's pregnant.
It might be faulty but usually an evaporation line would be grey - anything pink/purple means there's some HCG present.

Congrats!!

QueenofVenus · 09/11/2007 10:25

She says she feels 'rough' all the time and is only 2 days late. I think ur right, we need to go get another test!

If you still have the packet there should be a customer service number, give them a ring. I have never rang about a preg test but have rang about other things and have always found them very useful, if they have not known the answer they find out and ring you back very quickly

biglips · 09/11/2007 10:51

and its best if she hold her wee for 4 hours for to do a pg test to get best results

orangehead · 09/11/2007 11:14

Is that possible to hold your wee if you are preg?

SlightlyMadStuffing · 09/11/2007 11:20

Holding your wee doesn't help. The concentration of the hormone will still be the same - although you are more likely to get more wee on the stick.

The reason why morning wee is recommended with oder kits is not because of the length of time it has been in your bladder but is related to the fact that you produce wee slower (as far as volume is concerned), but all the hormone goes into it - so the concentration of hormone is effectively higher in mg/ml....

Hello, she did 2 more tests and they were both very negative , she's ok though, "keep trying" she said! Thanks for all your help!
